What's Google Pay?

Google Wallet (formerly Google Pay) is a free mobile application you can download from the Google Play Store on your Android phone. It’s a fast, secure and simple mobile payment solution that lets you:

  • Pay for your purchases online
  • Pay in store with NFC technology
  • Store tickets and loyalty cards

Google Wallet, Google’s electronic wallet, can be used when one of these symbols is present on the site or in store. Your payment information is centralized on your phone, so there’s no need to take out your Transcash Mastercard®.

How to fill in my payment card for Google Wallet?

First, download the Google Wallet application from your device’s Play Store.

> From the Transcash Mastercard® application:

  1. 1. Connect to the Transcash Mastercard® application.
  2. 2. Click on the ‘Add to Google Pay‘ button at the top of the home page.
  3. 3. The Google Pay connection takes place automatically and your card is added, as you are already securely authenticated.

> From the Google Wallet application:

you need to connect your Google Account and add a payment method.

  • Download and open the Google Wallet application on your smartphone
  • Enter your Transcash card number
  • Complete the requested information
  • Choose a verification method: SMS or e-mail. A unique code is sent to you to verify that you are the applicant.
  • Enter the code you received and voilà!

Which device to pay with?

First of all, the phone or tablet must be running Android, with version Lollipop 5.0 or higher. You must also have NFC functionality on your phone: check this in your settings! Here are the Google Pay-enabled devices. A version of Android software that is too old will prevent you from using the application. Keep it up to date!

Where and how to use Google Pay?

You don’t even need to open the Google Pay app, just unlock the phone and place it near the card reader and the ‘contactless’ symbol. And don’t forget to activate NFC functionality.

To pay online

You’ve already entered your payment method, so all you have to do is choose ‘Google Wallet’ from the payment method suggestions on the merchant site.

Payment limits and security

Google Pay is a free mobile payment service available to all Transcash customers (excluding ACCESS customers with no declared identity*).

Payment limits: Google Pay does not set a transaction limit. Your Transcash card’s transaction limit applies. You can spend within the transaction limits of your plan. Google Pay offers strong authentication to protect your data from piracy, so it’s normal to be able to pay a higher amount than with contactless.

Security : Google Pay has implemented several levels of security to protect your data, using some of the most advanced technology available. A virtual account number is assigned to your payment method so that your card details are never disclosed. This virtual number will be useful if you need to return an item purchased with Google Pay.

If you lose your phone, don’t panic: payments are not possible without biometric authentication (fingerprint, facial recognition or unique code). What’s more, you can remotely lock your phone using the ‘Locate my device’ application. We also advise you to block the card or stop payment.
